IZTECH KART SEATS WOULD LIKE CONGRATULATE WILL VAN ES ON YET ANOTHER WINNING PERFORMANCE
AT ROWRAH IN THE FIRST ROUND OF THE SUPER 1 TKM EXTREME
Here is a race report from Roel Van Es:
"Will had a great weekend at Rowrah, and put his new Martech supported 2013
Viper on pole for the first round of S1, having been very fast during free
practice too.
The heats were both run in interesting conditions, the first one on wets on
a drying track, when Will chose taller gearing, having estimated that it
would actually dry quicker. He finished in a solid 3rd place, having been a
bit slow off all three tight corners, but comfortably quickest on the rest
of the circuit. The second heat was once again - as seems to be tradition in
Extreme at S1 recently - on a drying track but this time on slicks. Here we
went out on too low a tyre pressure, having taken the view that it would dry
quite fast. It rained again briefly... Will had a moment of interest,
when, having dropped down the order a bit, two karts in front of him
collided in the last corner. He had to take to the wet off line in
avoidance, and in some lightning quick thinking steered into the pit lane
exit. To everyone's amazement he performed a neat pirouette here, sped back
out, and resumed racing in 4th place, where he finished.
His aggregate results gave him 2nd place on the grid for the finals. In the
first final he had a race long close battle with the number 48 kart of
Charlie Bruce-White out front, which was eventually settled with Will taking
the lead about half way through, beating Charlie by about 1/100ths of a
second. In the second final Will was more dominant with Charlie and Luke
Graver slogging it out race long for second place, which eventually went to
Charlie.
Will has come away from the weekend very happy, and we can also report that
the latest generation IZTECH KART SEATS IZ3HF performed faultlessly over the weekend, on what is
quite a physical track."
